Death of Heber Swainston marks long Whitinay life in Whitney
Heber Swainston a Franklin county resident since 1890 died early Wednesday at his home 303 North State after a brief illness. Born June 12 1882 in England he emigrated with his parents to the United States They lived in Ogden from 1882 to 1890 then moved to Whitney where he farmed and raised stock He helped bring modern conveniences to Whitney and served two years as a missionary in England He is survived by children William Heber Sophia Hansen Preston Jennie Gilbert Ethel Dursteler Theron Harold and LeRay with 46 grandchildren and 62 great grandchildren plus two brothers and one sister Mary Continued on Page 10

Edward Bergquist 59 Dies After Major Operation
Edward Bergquist 59 died at Preston hospital Friday morning after a major operation. Born December 5, 1890 in Mink Creek he was a son of Adolph and Pernella Nielson Bergquist. He married Serena Jensen June 28, 1917 in the Salt Lake Temple. He served a Swedish mission for the LDS Church 1911–13 and was superintendent of Sunday schools in Glencoe ward. He also served as officer and teacher in the MIA and was ward teacher for 22 years. Funeral services were held Monday at 1 pm in the Preston ward chapel with interment in Preston cemetery.

Rites Held Jan 27 For Hyrum Jepsen Funeral
Funeral services were held Friday afternoon January 27 in the Franklin stake house for Hyrum Jepsen. Bishop Delmar Olsen of the Glencoe ward led the services with organ, piano postlude and prelude by Constance Davis and Anna Moore. Prayers were offered by Ivan Rasmussen and Deward Carver. Burial followed in Mink Creek cemetery with J Charles Christensen dedicating the grave.

Preston Man Piloted U S Navy Plane on 26 Hour Flight
