National Recognition Comes To Blind Youth From Preston
LaVon Peterson once doubted by teachers who said a blind man cannot learn radio engineering. He learned to solder and now runs the Radio Engineering Institute in Omaha, training blind students from Utah Ohio and Michigan to repair radios and build a Multitester device. The program, supported by federal aid, aims to place graduates in independent, self run shops with up to 60 students, including a blinded veteran enrolled this year.
