Christmas Lighting Provided By Power Company Again
Utah Power & Light Co will furnish free electricity for holiday lighting on city streets and parks in serviced communities. The Preston division manager A N Wendell says the company will run service wires and connect lights to utility lines, providing free lighting during December from dusk to midnight each night.

Preston Farm Credit group to be renamed Federal Land Bank Association
The Farm Loan Association of Preston will become the Federal Land Bank Association of Preston effective December 21. The name change, approved by the board December 3, follows legislation requested by the land banks and passed by Congress. President HE Bassett of Grace said the new title aligns with the association’s long-term loan mission and changes the secretary treasurer role to manager. Loans over 200000 may be made if security meets standards. the Preston group serves Federal Land Bank of Spokane in Bannock Bear Lake Caribou Franklin and Oneida counties. Reservoir Nearing Completion On Preston Whitney Site
Cecil Foster reports the Preston Whitney Irrigation Co plans a new reservoir at the radio station site with 3 500 acre feet storage for late season use. The 80 foot dam will cost about 200 000 dollars and require 255 000 cubic yards of material.
