Eugene Andrews Enlists in Navy at Boise
The Navy recruiting office in Pocatello reports Eugene Jones Andrews, son of Mrs. Elizbeth Johnson of 164 West Oneida Preston, enlisted in the Navy at Boise on November 24 for four years. He begins nine weeks of basic training at San Diego United States Naval Training Center and will get 14 days leave with his mother after training before reporting to his duty station.

Youthful Drivers Involved In Thanksgiving Day Crash
On Thanksgiving Day a serious collision near Dayton on highway 35 left one youth with severe injuries and another with minor injuries. A 1949 pickup driven by Robert Phillips, 15, of Dayton, passing on a crest struck a 1955 station wagon driven by Ronald Ralphs, 15, also of Dayton. Ralphs suffered two broken legs. Phillips had minor injuries. The Phillips youth was cited for reckless driving.

High October dairy results from Franklin county DHIA group
The Franklin county DHIA group under Ira Kennington tested 24 herds totaling 765 cows in October.
