Jack E. Wold, aged 16, and finalist Jay Neilson were among 2000 winners of Yale pre induction scholarships from 1 000 candidates after entering exams in Pocatello last May. Wold, son of Mr and Mrs Darrel R Wold Preston route two, will register September 17, receiving 1800 dollars for 1952 53. The program funds liberal education with a two year scholarship and aims to develop youth for national life.

Lott's Weston Store Marks 10 Year Anniversary
Archie Lott, Weston store operator and postmaster since 1945, announces Aug 25 to Aug 30 as a big 10 year anniversary carnival. Daily merchandise specials, 30 prize baskets including a deep fryer, food samples, balloons for children, and a cake baking contest are planned. Lott began as a barber in 1927 and took over the store in 1931 from Henry Simpson.

Local Youth Honored Vaughn Hawkes Chosen for Panel on Cooperatives

For the fiscal year ending June 30, Cache national forest income totaled 94846.14 with sources including timber sales 23203.61 grazing fees 68658.91 land use 2870.62 and power line rights of way 113. Receipts do not equal expenditures locally though nationwide receipts exceed expenditures for national forest work. Twenty five percent of receipts go to Cache counties for schools and roads.
