Intersection Crash Damages Two Cars. Three Teens Escape Injury
A Sunday noon collision at the 4th South and 4th West intersection damaged a 1939 Buick sedan and a 1938 Ford coupe. Drivers Dave Frew 16 Preston and Cloyd Hansen Jr 15 Preston escaped serious injury, as did passenger Jack Merrill 14. The Buick was pushed into a telephone pole and rolled onto its top.

Catherine Archibald to Be Honored on 85th Birthday
Catherine Archibald will be honored August 10 at the home of her son John Archibald in Dayton for her 85th birthday. Born 1863 in Coalville Utah, she moved to Clarkston at age three with her parents John and Mary Godfrey. She married Richard Jardine, later widowed, then wed James Archibald in Salt Lake City in 1897. The Archibalds moved to Dayton, where they lived until Mia Archibald’s death in November 1941.
