Expansion Program Costing $100,000 at Under Way in This Utah Power Area

Utah Power and Light expands service in the Preston division with major projects. A 7 200 volt line 38 miles north of Soda Springs costs 54 090 with 20 000 this year and will serve 43 rural customers. Additional capacitors cost over 27 000. Substation rebuilds at Richmond and Grace total 53 000 and 27 000 respectively with new transformers and gear.

West Side PTA Plans Saturday Dances in Dayton Gym

Due to lack of dancing space in Franklin county the West Side PTA schedules regular Saturday dances at the Dayton gym to raise funds for school activities. Public response will determine if the program continues with orchestras, opening on Saturday night August 12 led by the Gil Thorpe orchestra of Logan.

Funeral Held For Mrs Marinda C Peterson In Preston Ward

Friends and relatives gathered at the Preston first ward chapel last Tuesday for the funeral of Mrs Marinda Clayton Peterson who died Sunday July 20 after a short illness. Widow of Baltzar Peterson Bishop Eberhard conducted the services with obituary by J Neff Boothe. C Earl Goaslind and Friend Edgley spoke. Music by Lenora Edgley and Diane Burgi. Preston baseball to host benefit game for Tracy Maero

The Preston team, after a three game win streak, hosts a Friday night benefit against the West Side all-stars to aid Tracy Maero of Weston after a May truck crash left him with a broken leg and four operations. Receipts will help offset his medical and lost business costs as the team eyes a large turnout.

Champion Holstein Bull Dies After Wire In Stomach

Henry Drury and Sons of Fairview lose four-year-old Inka De Kol a 3000 pound grand champion known as Western Flash after a wire ingestion punctured the stomach and spleen.
