Engineers study shorting U S highway 30 route
Pocatello Bannock surveyor and engineer Havener opened a study of right of way between McCammon and Lava Hot Springs to shorten the present 12 mile stretch of U S highway 30. The survey is for the state highway department as part of postwar highway rerouting widening and reconstruction. Re routing would take traffic in a straighter route through the valley. Havener could not yet estimate distance saved or curves eliminated.
