Inflation Eases as OPA Cuts Costs for Farmers
Estimated savings from OPA price control activities since the war total 4.4 billion dollars in farm operating expenses and 3.7 billion in living costs. The combined 8.1 billion dollar saving at World War I price levels aims to avert a repeat of the 1921 drop in farm income from 1360 dollars to 460 dollars and prevent foreclosures on about 500000 farms over five years.
