Patriarch Reese John Davis 76 Dies After Heart Ailment
John Davis 76 died Friday from a heart ailment. Bishop A E Bell conducted funeral services. Davis born June 24, 1870 in Glamorganshire Wales and came to America in 1873 with family settling near Scranton Pennsylvania. He married Annie Kershaw in 1891. remarried in 1912 in Logan LDS temple. He lived in Preston after 1927 retirement and served as patriarch of the Oneida stake since 1939. survived by his widow.

Edwards and C I Goff presented a city beautification program for Preston. Lions Club with music by Windmills of Holland cast. They recommended Norway and Schweidler maples and green ash for streets, white bark cutleaf birch and mountain ash as ornamentals, and Thuya Occidentalis mugho pine Pfitzers Kaster blue spruce and junipers among evergreens. Goff urged citizen cooperation to plant care and protect trees, noting vandalism and detailing planting gaps and distances.
