Protestant churchmen in Detroit urge extensive taxation
A group of prominent Protestant churchmen in Detroit, under the sponsorship of the Federal Council of Churches, voted to recommend to the public the extensive use of taxation to reduce income inequalities. The Associated Press notes the stance clashes with American concepts of taxation as a funding tool, not confiscation, as argued in Spargo and Arner's Elements of Socialism.
