Long Beach harbor officials seek bids for a 20 million modernization of Pier 1 bulk loader. Joint project with Kerr-McGee Chemical Co. of Oklahoma, planned rail and ship loader facilities, air pollution controls, and 12 storage silos to handle white bulk products. Project aims for completion by December 1978 with annual port net income around 125000 and Southland indirect benefits of about 12.4 million per year.
