Auto theft crackdown targets organized rings in California
Sacramento reports a state campaign to curb organized auto theft. DMV director Robert Cozens says training with California Highway Patrol aims to detect large scale thieves and salvage switch schemes. Investigators focus on vehicles brought into California and wrecking yards to uncover altered ID numbers. No statistics on program success were provided. Olseon may reflect awareness, not participation. Best prices in today’s classified appliance column.
