Wild Horse Annie loses bid to prove horses are wild
Idaho brand inspector Burns Beal ruled that horses rounded up last year belonged to ranchers, ending Annie and the American Horse Protection Association effort to prove the animals were wild. Congressmen from Maryland and South Dakota filed claims for the horses, arguing they are wild. The group had claimed ranchers drove horses over cliffs and used them for pet meat amid debates over grazing on federal land. In Muskegon, Michigan, 8 year old Melissa Woodworth, who is blind from a brain tumor, caught a 28 pound 14 ounce king salmon on a weekend fishing trip, described by her father as the family’s best fisherman.
