DC10 establishes sixth long range flight record
A McDonnell Douglas DC10 trijet set the sixth long range world flight mark by landing in Gerona Spain completing a 11,353 mile nonstop run from Long Beach. Iberia Air Lines of Spain operated the record flight which lasted 10 hours 47 minutes and 30 seconds. The flight will be submitted to the FAI for certification while Alitalia also set a point to point record from Long Beach to Rome lasting 1 hour 32 minutes.

RFK's son back in hospital after accident
Robert F Kennedy Jr son Christopher Kennedy 20 was readmitted to Herrick Hospital with post concussion symptoms after an automobile crash last Saturday. Hospital officials said tests showed no brain blood clot and he remains in satisfactory condition. He had been released Monday after two days in intensive care and was readmitted Wednesday with nausea vomiting blurred vision and headaches.
