Paul W. Aurell, 66, a Japan-born American insurance executive and Tokyo managing director of Rolibec International Co., plunged from the 10th floor of the Tokyo Prince Hotel. Police called it a suicide, noting a note cited business troubles. He had a five year Rolibec contract ending around his death and had lived in Tokyo since 1945 after time in Hillsborough, California.

Fourquet Named Head of French Armed Forces

The French government announced Air Force General Michel Fourquet as armed forces chief of staff replacing General Charles Ailleret who died in a plane crash earlier this month. Fourquet, 53, will take command of all armed services and oversee strategy and defense policy.

Farrow Delayed by Illness in London

Actress Mia Farrow, 22, fell ill with a stomach ailment after a weekend party hosted by Richard Burton and Elizabeth Taylor. Filming of Secret Ceremony was postponed. Firemen Fight Blaze Under Threat of Guns

In High Ridge Missouri an angry crowd armed with guns and clubs forced volunteer firefighters to battle a blaze at a home.
