Our Drug Society lecture series on U S drug use
A 12 week lecture series titled Our Drug Society starts tonight at the Orange County Medical Center auditorium. Dr Daniel S Castile coordinates the program for all concerned including parents teachers counselors police doctors clergy and the public. Experts in psychiatry sociology public health law enforcement and pharmacology will discuss crime and violence linked to drug use factors driving use body and mind effects of mind expanding drugs and ways to control drugs.

Two Plead Guilty to Drug Sale Charge
A 18 year old A Hobson and a 22 year old Ray E Summerhill pleaded guilty to sale of dangerous drugs in Superior Court Judge Donald Dunbar set a probation and sentence hearing for April 22. Mrs Hobson and Summerhill were arrested after Mrs Hobson's estranged husband aided police. investigation showed a sale of benzedrine with marked city money. The couple’s drug raid yielded 250 more pills and the money used in the sale. the children were placed with the husband after arrest.

Storm Drain Bids Set For Lakewood Project
Bids will be opened Friday on an 800000 storm drain project in the Lakewood area funded by the 1964 storm drain bond issue. The plan covers about three miles of reinforced concrete box and pipe conduits along Harvey Way, San Anseline, Tilbury, Carson, Bellflower, Gondar, Nipomo, Arbor, Ocana, Woodruff, Knoxville, Eberle, Eckleson, South, Allington, Edgefield, Spahn, Charlwood, Snowden, Michelson, and other streets, with multiple branches to connect existing drains. Wrecked John C. Fremont High School reported with nearly $1000 in damages from vandalism by juveniles, breaking windows and pushing over supplies.
