Death Row Inmate Stabbed After Letter to Paper

Mine explorer survives fall in abandoned Silver Queen mine
A 1 year old through a boarded entrance in Calica Ghost Town fell about 150 feet into a shaft but escaped with a broken leg and bruises. Darrel Avery and his brother David were exploring the area when the fall occurred. Rescuers lowered two men 350 feet to reach Darrel, who was later in satisfactory condition at Community Hospital.
