Honeymooners Suspected Hijackers Seize Sea Plane to Cuba
A Boston couple claiming honeymoon status hijacked a Tortugas Airways Cessna 208 with three others en route to the Tortugas Islands. They forced the plane to Cuba where it landed safely. The hijackers identified themselves as Mr and Mrs Bob Sands of Boston and gave a Key West motel address. Additional passengers included pilot Hook Hammersley and the Strickland couple of Miami on vacation.

A three story building in downtown Tijuana burned for six hours on Sunday, destroying offices for attorneys accountants banks and tourism officials. Owner Benjamin Garcia Caliente race track cashier estimated losses at 1.6 million dollars and a district attorney investigation was ordered to determine the cause. Tenants including Jorge Aviles said he was owed forty thousand dollars by a tenant and his records were lost in the blaze.
