12,000-year-old Cal. lake village unearthed near Clear Lake
Archaeologists led by Ant aid, in Northrly California near Clear Lake, found a 12,000-year-old village site during sewer project surveys. Artifacts and tool chips from burrows were located about 10 feet deep, with dating awaiting lab confirmation. Prior finds include Borax Lake and a 10,000-year-old burial at Kelsey Creek.
