Burglar Hits Long Beach Vendors on Tuesday
Police report two thefts in Long Beach. A burglar forced open a door to English Fish & Chips on the Pacific Coast Highway and stole 1220 dollars from a cash register. Another burglary at Security United Insurance on Long Beach Boulevard saw two typewriters valued at 880 dollars stolen.

Convictions Upheld in Garden Grove Club Slayings

Compton Officer Faces Trial For Reported Abuse
A Compton policeman, 41 year old Kenry H. Perez, is ordered to stand trial in Norwalk Superior Court on six counts of alleged abuse of his 1 year old stepdaughter. The incidents are said to have occurred last month at the Bell family home with bail set at 45000. The girl reportedly suffered injuries on six dates in May and Perez was arrested June 1.

Arson Trial Delayed Due to Vacation Schedules
Daniel Holton, 35, of La Sierra, charged with arson and arson to defraud his insurer, had his Long Beach Municipal Court trial postponed for six to eight weeks until 11 months after arraignment. The delay follows vacations of defense lawyers Al Ramsey and Ed George, the prosecutor, and the fire department arson investigator.
