Dow recovers from four day slide on NYSE gains

The day's gains came amid dollar steadiness and oil price expectations from OPEC talks in Venezuela. Howard Johnson led active trades as a large block moved at 1% stake. The American market indexes also posted gains with volume at 0.90 billion shares by noontime.
