Senator Jeff Davis assaulted on Louisiana street
Special to The News Little Rock March 31 Senator Jeff Davis was attacked by Helm deputy prosecuting attorney under Lewis Rothen on Louisiana street at one o'clock this afternoon. He sustained a painful but not dangerous wound and was treated at Dr Runyan's office in the Hotel Marion. The incident followed a campaign allegation about a thousand dollars received by Helen in a prior case. Both men offered no statements as the scene stirred great street excitement.

Freight Train 56 Wreck Near Emmet Delays Services
Yesterday at about six o clock freight train No 56 wrecked two miles north of Emmet at a site near last week’s crash. The engine left the track, fireman was thrown from the cab and suffered broken ankles and other injuries. Poor track conditions north of Brunet blamed for the incident. Delayed trains held passengers at Emmet until after ten o clock rather than the scheduled 4 50 arrival.
