Our correspondents report a quiet week with sickness and two deaths in Moriah. Briant Stokes and Carce Edwards died, Edwards from paralysis and Stokes buried at Mt. Moriah. Oliver Clark’s wife and child ill, Ernest Brown’s baby sick, and a large turnout for Sunday’s burial. Community prayers and sympathy offered.

Maharra's Minstrels Delight Prescott Audience

A full Prescott audience welcomed Maharra's Minstrels at the Elk's theater last night praising new talent and fresh features. Shower honors McRae girl as bride to be

A March 1908 bridal party hosted by Mrs Jno M Pittman and Mrs C McRae Jr celebrated the future bride described as pure and heavenly. Guests enjoyed merriment bells and confetti while two babies carried flowers then the hose led to a communal blessing and a dining room feast concluding with prayers for a long happy life and praise of Christian graces.

Buchanan works in the government railway mail service between Little Rock and Fort Worth. Myrtle Talley is daughter of W Talley a Batesville lumber man and niece of O S Jones. They will reside in Prescott with Mr and Mrs Will Caruthers. The News extends best wishes for a long life together.

Mahara Minstrels Reach City for Show at Opera House

The Mahara Minstrels arrived from DeQueen yesterday afternoon and rested after an open date. A parade was held at noon today and a performance is set for tonight at the opera house. Also promoted are Fulton Folding Go-Carts at Prescott Hardware Co.

Uncle Zeke thrills Joplin crowd at Crawford show

About one thousand theatergoers witnessed the Crawford Company perform Uncle Zeke at the Joplin opera house. Rural comic characters uncle Zeke squir and Tim drew strong audience reaction, with Bessie and little Katie winning early favor. The orchestra received high praise as the production topped local rural comedies. The event concluded with lasting theatergoing impressions in Joplin.

On the Frontier spectacle opens April 2 at Main Street

The four act melodrama On the Frontier comes to town April 2 with two special carloads of scenery and effects and a 40 member company including an 18 piece military band. Set in the early 1840s prairie West, it promises dramatic climaxes romantic intrigue and hardy American wit amid frontier life. Noonday concert advertised with tickets 25 and 85 cents.
