Rural Free Delivery Carriers' Salaries Raised

The Rural Free Delivery service increases salaries for Prescott and Emmet carriers effective July 1. Top raise goes to A E McGuire from 684 to 864 yearly on Prescott Route 2, with other routes adjusted by 90 to 180 dollars annually. Carriers J W Mitchell Burns McCuller Buchanan Daniels and others show varied increases. Emmet Ross crews also listed.

Police clash cited in Helena assault and nose breaking

Editor George Adams of the World Publishing Co was assaulted by Police Sergeant Rowan and Chief Prank Clancy at Cherry and Rider streets. Adams fought back as officers separated, then Clancy was struck and Adams allegedly bruised him. Rowan reengaged and Adams beat him. The Helena World has long accused police of lax duties and this incident stems from those charges. Hotel Miller guests listed include C A Hoen and W A West among others. Iron Mountain Adopts Rough Lumber Rate and Refunds Ordered

Lyon Mountain will adopt the rate on rough lumber set by the railroad commission effective April 1, with the road required to refund shipper differences between the old and new rate. The commission dismissed suits against the road regarding account handling. In other cases, verdicts awarded $25 to B C Santifer against E P Malone and $388 default in favor of Ozan Mercantile Co. against G F Purtle. J R Marsh v Camden Marble postponed to next Monday.

McMillion learned his son in law R W Wheeler a railway mail clerk on the Little Rock to Fort Worth run was severely injured in a Texas and Pacific Railroad wreck yesterday afternoon He was carried to his Fort Worth home and confined to bed The full extent of injuries was not stated in the message
