Trial Delay Case Sought In Alanzi
Medical testimony about lawyer Nago Alaniz of Duval County was to be presented in Edinburg as defense seeks to delay his burglary and theft trial. Alaniz, a San Diego resident, is accused of breaking into the Duval County Conservation and Reclamation District office and stealing records sought by a federal grand jury investigating the late political boss George B. Parr. Defense contends illness from a foot infection makes him unable to stand trial. the judge held the panel for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and heard earlier testimony on his condition and fitness to proceed.
