Rome Bandits Hit Labor Ministry for Half Million Haul
In downtown Rome three bandits armed with submachine guns raided the Labor Ministry accounting office on payday, seizing 464 million lire (about $556,800). They used a tear gas blast, detained staff, cut phone wires, and fled in a waiting car. An hour later another trio robbed a nearby post office of 130 million lire (about $156,000).

Audit Reveals Missing Funds At Calhoun County Fair
Calhoun County commissioners reviewed an audit by James Houlihan showing about 5 000 dollars in fair funds, 332 dollars in un deposited booth rental checks, 270 dollars from rodeo unaccounted for, and 190 dollars owed to a producer. Probation Ends for Mutscher in Brenham County Judge Vote
