Winter Session opens and local items reflect secession talk
The Pomeroy Telegraph notes the Meigs County Board of County Commissioners begins its winter session on the first Monday in December while editorials critique secession and disunion across the South. Reports include transfers of land in Meigs County, a horse theft notice, political dispatches from Illinois and Florida, and local marriages and market notices. Strong entities include Meigs County, O., the Meigs County Auditor, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen Mouldy, and local officials, with multiple dated items from 1860.
