Leap Year Love Across a Cottage Dream
A humorous tale from a miscellany where Tom Pidger, long-in-the-tooth wooer, pursues Julia through grandiloquent schemes, lettered proffers, and a leap year proposal. The narrator recounts Tom’s metamorphosis from sloven to suitor, the Royal Circus encounters, and a cottage fantasy that becomes true when Leap Year makes Julia propose.
