Hordville Happenings PTA Meeting Set for Thursday

PTA plans the first meeting of the year in the school auditorium at 8 00 pm with program on the Summer Activities of the 4 H Clubs. Additional items include notes on local visits and social gatherings among residents and families in Hordville and nearby communities.

Milo Festival Highlights and Local Race Winners

Polk local news notes Robin Flodman wins multiple events at the Milo Festival horse show including high point junior rider and first in clover leaf barrel race and pole bending. Robin and Carroll Flodman take first in the four in line barrel race. other placings include second in kids stake and third in open pair clover leaf race. Community events list attendees at a funeral and guests at local homes.

Centennial Style Show Delights Local Audience

A 46 model display traced fashion from the 1880s to 1967 in a village Centennial Style Show at Bean Day. Residents showcased gowns, swimsuits, furs, and historic uniforms while songs and piano accompanied the brisk tour through decades.

Bean Day guests and weekend visitors fill Polk social scene

A flood of local residents and guests gathered in Polk for Bean Day and weekend visits. Couples from Central City Osceola Clarks Lincoln Wichita Derby and Seward shared meals and conversations with hosts including the Johnson Adelson Henthorn Schoenholtz and Lott families. Veterans and travelers returned home joining family gatherings and Sunday dinners. Capt Wayne Swanson arrived home from Vietnam duty.

Visitors from Omaha and New York Join Mrs Green For Weekend

Mr and Mrs Willard Gruber of Omaha and Mrs Olive Gruber of Hartsdale N Y visited Mrs Bessie Green on Saturday. Mrs Gruber stayed longer with her sister Bessie. Other Saturday visitors included Mr and Mrs Bob Hill Tor rence Calif Mr and Mrs Clifford Hill North Platte Mr and Mrs James Hill and Mr and Mrs Don Hill Broken Bow and Mrs Ruth Allison Stromsburg. Mrs Glen Hill accompanied Mr and Mrs Don Iglehart recently of Ithaca N Y to their new Palo Alto California home to help move in.
