Palking Around: Autumn Hints and Small-town Wit
A column notes the arrival of fall with crisp mornings and a shift in life around Polk. It recalls Lefty Nelson’s playful dressing room moment, monarch butterfly migration, and the dangers of high speed on migratory roads. The piece jokes about insects, a math riddle for fourth graders, a correction to sponsor names, and a casual drive to Grand Island ending with a page break.
