Polk County Farm Bureau passes resolutions and elects officers
The Polk County Farm Bureau held its annual meeting in Osceola on October 12 with a chili supper. Resolutions favor road safety, weed control, school board attendance, calendar publication of events, and county office consolidation, among others. Robert W. Bryan was elected president. Donald Schott, vice president, with Walter W. Berck as delegate chairman.

Junior High News Highlights Classes and Visitors
Junior high students under Mr Owens and Mrs Nielsen explore science light and photosynthesis rockets first aid archery and self directed writing while seventh graders study ancient Egypt Near East Greece and Rome and eighth graders focus on early US development including the Constitution. Local families hosted visiting relatives over the weekend in Wallace Lind Clymer and Garling homes.
