The Polk Woman's Club met at Mary Stauffer's home for the October session with a 6 30 dinner. Marie Clymer was elected president after Ann Moore's resignation, Karen Merchant became vice president, and plans were set for the Christmas party. Bertha Brazda presented an Israel program, followed by a piano solo by Stauffer. Helen Samuels and Jo Strand to host November 2 gathering.

Legion Auxiliary October Meeting At Legion Hall
The American Legion Auxiliary met October 11 in the Legion Hall with president Mrs Ed Saylor presiding. The group heard reports on the Legislative Bulletin and the Dodge Nebr convention, sang patriotic songs, and noted National Education Week October 24–30 proclaimed by Mayor Dean Myers. Hostesses served pie, coffee and candy in a Halloween motif.
