Telephone Company To Increase Charges In Lincoln Area Readied

The Nebraska State Railway Commission approved higher local service rates for Lincoln Telephone and Telegraph Company with effect October 16 1970 raising net annual revenue by about 1.15 million dollars and yielding a 7.75 percent return on investment. Rates vary by service class with residential increases from 1.00 to 1.50 monthly and business from 1.10 to 3.60, and premium surcharges and two party business service for new customers were cut. Local rates exclude federal and state taxes.
