Nebraska Potato Queen crowned at pancake breakfast
Kathy Tyler of Hardville was named Nebraska Potato Queen by Governor Frank Morrison at a potato pancake breakfast in Omaha that opened Potato Month. The event began a three month Haig potato promotion in Lincoln and Omaha. The Nebraska Potato Council led by Jim Laessle of Scottsbluff aims to double Haig potato sales by promoting table use. Kathy’s Nebraska Wesleyan classmates nickname her Miss Hashbrown.
