Nebraska mortgage indebtedness shows a 23.7 percent loan share of farm land valued at 1928 figures, a $18.49 million drop since 1925. Ship Nebraska Mules To India

Frank Simpson of Florence Nebraska plans a major peace time mule shipment to India for the British government. Twenty carloads from Nebraska Kansas and Dakota will depart Florence and Fremont with 620 mules and 13 carloads of feed for acclimation. Occurring in November the mules will be used for army and road work once accepted by British agents and meeting height weight and pulling requirements.

Walnut Timber Promoted as Regular Nebraska Crop

Rex Parson of Lincoln representing Penrod Jurden Clark announced walnut timber as a farm crop with potential yearly value around 50 dollars per acre. The company buys walnut in Nebraska at Pawnee City Falls City Liberty Lincoln and Cedar Bluffs for Des Moines mill, with lumber valued from forty to two hundred dollars per thousand feet and over forty thousand feet already gathered at DuBois. They expect shipments exceeding two hundred thousand feet from Pawnee City and DuBois as 20 years grow sizeable trees.
