Women’s Missionary Breakfast at Polk Church
The Woman's Missionary Society of Polk Evangelical Free church met at Bit of Sweden cafe in Stromsburg for a Friday breakfast. Guest speaker Mrs Neal Murray of Grand Island shared an inspiring talk. Mrs William Pinkernell led choral singing and several members participated. Twenty-one attendees joined in. Bennie Thom as was born to Mr and Mrs Jerry Giles on November 2 in Wichita Kansas, weighing seven pounds. Karen Lynn, a daughter, was born to Sgt. and Mrs Arthur Trennepohl on November 7 in Rapid City, South Dakota. Rudolph Nyberg is the maternal grandfather. Senator Carl Curtis criticized Republicans who opposed Goldwater and later sought more influence, urging GOP leadership to align with rank-and-file beliefs and suggesting new leadership could energize the party.
