Mrs Elmer Knerr laid to rest after gas explosion

Funeral services were held for Mrs Elmer A Knerr 73 who died from burns after a farm house gas explosion. Interment followed at Chappell Cemetery. She was born November 8 1894 near Arborville and survived by two sons Lyle and Lowell, four grandchildren and two brothers.

Burdette F. Toline Receives Army Commendation Medal

Army Specialist Five Burdette F. Toline, 24, Stromsburg son of Mr. and Mrs. Harlan L. Toline, earned the Army Commendation Medal in ceremonies near Saigon, Vietnam. He was cited for meritorious service as a surgical technician at the hospital from October 1967 to October 1968.

The Faithful Workers Club met at Mrs Myron Norquest's home on October 23 with 12 members and one visitor. Mrs Lyle Widga assisted the hostess. President Mrs Norquest led the business meeting. The Halloween program featured masked participants and a lunch was served afterwards.
