The Lloyd Mroger's Farmer's Store exterior got a fresh white paint job last week, altering its curb appearance and marking a small update to the storefront.
Mr and Mrs Willard Lindburg and son visited Lincoln with their daughters Mrs Robert Stevens Joan and Adelaide while Mr and Mrs Harry Pollock of Fremont spent Sunday with Mr and Mrs W P Milter and friends. Carl W Jones of Lexington Kentucky stayed with his mother Mrs Nettie Jones Strand last week. Several local households host guests including Henry Sandell family and Oscer Jones with Clara Anderson and Clem Meerkatz. Dinner hosted for August Nelson’s family and Portland Oregon visitors Howard Nelson and Jerry Holmes among others.
Mrs Richard Sealey expresses gratitude for cards letters flowers and visits during a Stromsburg hospital stay and says she is thankful and appreciative.

Polk Neb residents bid summer opening as Len's Place hosts Eat Drink and Be Merry with a band to play. Commercial Club notes Polk Municipal Band opens summer season next Wednesday June 6 under S A Ramp. Stores stay open until 11 pm all summer. Various social notes follow including visits, new birth Judy Ann Bartzatt, and local real estate moves.
Polk market reported top prices for corn oats hogs chickens and eggs with other items including milk route opportunities from Roberts Dairy Co and want ads for machinery livestock and household moves. Community items note group events and visits along with a Faithful Workers Club meeting and talks on famous women.
Mrs John Reiner and son of Spalding were guests in the Hill home Sunday. Horstman and relatives plan a week in Loup City. Clyde Travis and family of Central City visited Graves family. Nels Nyberg from Los Angeles arrived for an extended visit with Peterson and Johnson. Zetta Hill of York and GQ Hill returned from Sterling and Greeley Colorado after two weeks with relatives. Horstman attended a Womans Club meeting in Stromsburg with a book review. Several Flodman and Forslund families hosted a dinner in Polk Park. Herbes family spent Sunday in Osceola, and Edwin Anderson of Stromsburg visited Elmer Hanquist and Imogene. Charles Carlson and Ebba Hanquist joined relatives in McPherson Kansas over the weekend.
