Bargain Water Pails Offered at 25 Cents Each

Polk Surprises Them All

A. E. Roch of Araphoe W Divan of Oxford M A Stevenson and Geo W Cobel of Fairfield visited Polk County on Friday to view land for purchase. Two bankers in the party praised the city noting its cleanliness and thrift. They were surprised to learn Polk had two banks with deposits totaling 450000 dollars.

Twentieth Century Club Meeting Notes May 28

The Twentieth Century Club met May 28 with Mrs. Esther Stouffer in attendance. The Polk/Culture Club and most members attended. Mrs. Harrington read about Famous Scenic and Historic Spots of Fujiyama and Mrs. Dahlgreen spoke on Nikko. A survey drill was skipped due to time. Mrs. Theiss finished The Lady of the Decoration. After luncheon, the group adjourned to meet in October.

Water sprinkling season opens May 16

Notice to water consumers announces lawn and garden sprinkling starts May 16 with charges 1.00 for one lot and 0.50 for each additional lot per month. Sprinkling hours are 6 to 7 30 am and 6 30 to 8 pm. Violations will shut off water without further notice and a 1.00 fee will be charged to restore service.
