Immanuel Lutheran Track Meet and Award Highlights
Immanuel Lutheran School competed at Thayer with Our Redeemer Staplehurst and Zion on May 15 with no team scoring. Ribbons earned: 11 firsts 12 seconds 7 thirds 15 fourths. May 16 saw a sixth place finish and 18 points at the Concordia High School Invitational in Seward with twelve schools present. Janis Schulze won senior girls long jump and placed second in the 60 yard dash. Denise Schulze won junior long jump and the 50 yard dash. May 24 closed the term with diplomas for Sharon Schulze and a program titled The Year in Story Poem and Song. awards to Allen Blase Diane Blase Steven Blase Janis Schulze and Sharon Schulze. Cindy Blase won World-Herald pen as champion school speller. Immanuel Lutheran Church observed Youth Sunday and installed Walther League officers, led by Rev. Norbert A. Streufert.

Summer Recreation Fund Boosted by Legion and Anonymous Gift
The Summer Recreation Fund received 100 from American Legion Post No. 160 and 10 from an anonymous donor, totaling 275. Two older boys teams coached by Richard Hoops will play a double header at Osceola this Sunday May 31 with 1:30 kickoff. Younger boys 7 11 begin practice June 1 at 7 00 PM. Girls teams have no game until Friday June 12 hosting Gresham in a 5 30 PM triple header.
