Five Cubs Qualify For State Track Meet
The Cubs advance five athletes to the state track meet in three events at Kearney this Friday. At Hastings District, Mike Lindburg won the high hurdles in 15.4 seconds, Ken Bills jumped 20 feet 1 inch for first, and the 2 mile relay team of Mark Albin Jerry LaVelle Mick Hoffman and Ken Bills posted 8 46.8 for a state bid. The team finished second in the district meet with 38 1/3 points.

Thieves Strike Hordville Firms Tuesday Night
Break in Tuesday night at Farmers Co-op Gas Company and Farmers Elevator in Hordville netted intruders over 1,000 dollars in cash and checks. A safe at the oil company was opened, along with cigarette and pop machines. Tires, socket wrenches and other items were reported missing. Sheriff Bill Schultz said entry came via a broken rear window and a broken window glass at the elevator helped unlock a door.
