Changes In 1962 Polk Wheat Program Reach More Growers

Polk county wheat growers will fall under wider marketing quotas in 1962 under revised rules set by Chairman Richard C. Sealey. Exemption now uses the smaller of 13.5 acres or the highest wheat acreage in 1959 60 or 61, with penalties at 65 percent of parity for excess 1962 crop. Price support and acreage diversion payments require participation in the stabilization program. Excess wheat must be stored or turned to the Secretary of Agriculture to avoid future allotment reductions.
