Bridal Shower Honors Miss Dianne Bodine May 1

Miss Dianne Bodine was guest of honor at a miscellaneous bridal shower held May 1 at the Swede Plain United Methodist Church parlors. Bridal games entertained guests while Dianne opened gifts. Lunch featured pastel decorations and was served from a serving table. Forty guests attended assisted by hostesses Mrs Wallace Lind and Mrs Dean Donelson. Special guests included the groom's grandmother Mrs Clara L'Heureux of Campbell and aunt Mrs Orval Jacobsen of Minden.

Polk Cancer Fund Drive Reaches $275 Total

The Polk Cancer Fund Drive collects 275 dollars with gifts from American Legion Auxiliary and Women's Club amid thanks to block chairmen and organizers Mrs Dean Myers Mrs Don Hanquist and Mrs Reuben Hanquist. Memorials may be given to the Cancer Fund and transportation aid is available for cobalt and chemotherapy patients.

Pastor Stephen Stohlmann and his wife of Hampton announce the birth of their son Seth Patrick Christian at Aurora Hospital. Born April 27 at 12:59 a.m., the baby weighed 8 pounds 7 ounces.

Mrs Martin Baack was admitted after a fall at home on Friday evening and underwent surgery the following Monday. Mr Earl Stevens entered York hospital Thursday night and had surgery Friday morning.

Polk Ladies Attend Osceola Style Show at Good Samaritan Home

A group of Polk County women attended a Saturday style show for Good Samaritan Home residents. Highlights included the 1894 wedding dress of Mrs Wm Stevens and outfits representing parents going away. Mrs Wallace Sandell, Mrs Irvin Anderson, and Mrs Dwight Burney modeled graduation dresses from 1926.

Dorla L Heureux was honored at a china bridal shower on Sunday afternoon May 2 at the home of her aunt Mrs A M Brown in York. Bridal games provided entertainment while green tones shaped decorations and lunch. Special guests included her grandmother Mrs Clara L Heureux of Campbell and aunt Mrs Orval Jacobsen of Minden.
