Hordville Girls Win Volleyball Tourney
The Hordville invitational volleyball tournament drew over 500 spectators as the Hordville girls defeated Waco 41 to 31 in the final to claim the championship. The team now holds four straight titles including the Central Nebraska Conference crown and posted a 21 2 season record. Farmers Urged To Check Stored Grain Insects
Farmers are advised to inspect stored grain for weevil and other pests. Weevils and dust cause shrinkage and dockage, lowering test weight. Although many bins were fumigated last fall, regular checks are needed. even one or two weevils per quart can justify fumigation due to rapid multiplication.
Dorrel Shostrom Arrives in Germany with 979th Field Artillery
Army Private Dorrel D. Shostrom arrived in Germany to serve with the 979th Field Artillery Battalion in the 18th Field Artillery Group supporting Seventh Army units. He joined the Army in May 1953 after basic at Camp Chaffee Arkansas.
