Pfe. M. E. Snider and family arrived from New York to spend furlough at the W. I. Snider home. Lt. Max Peterson wished his mother a happy birthday from Camp Hood Texas. Lt. Alex Mills left for naval station in the South after leave. Dick Mills A.S. returned to DePauw University to resume naval studies. Walter Calhoun Jr. was wounded in action aboard the USS Pensacola in the Southwest Pacific. George S. E. Berek was seriously injured when crushed by a 1100 pound steer at his farm. Mrs. Alfred Grossnicklaus and Basil Wyman visited western relatives including Tacoma and Portland. The Wyman brothers had not seen each other in 53 years.
