The Polt County Farm Bureau board of directors elected officers for the year on February 27. Petrus C. Neigon was chosen president with August Mf Ander son as vice president. Mrs EC Mou den was secretary and Mra RH McBeth treasurer, Oreena. New directors present included Mrs A BH Doewes Osceola pecine Wes tgeorge Wierman Valley precinct and WA Lindburg Pleasant Home precinct.
At A Quillen’s place near Polk county extension agent will host a demonstration on culling hens for egg production. All residents nearby are urged to attend the meeting on the date and time specified to learn methods of removing nonproductive birds.
John Albert Nelson a Polk area farmer filed a federal bankruptcy petition listing debts of 1976 and assets of 1278 with most exemptions claimed. The only creditor named is Farmers State Bank of Polk holding a note for 1900 with 76 interest due. Principal assets include livestock 535 implements 169 vehicles 92 and an undetermined stake in corn wheat oats and alfalfa valued 349.
