Amy Horst Wins First In Art Show

Amy Horst won first place for the painting Kresha's Pond in the Polk County Exhibit of the Governor's Pre Centennial Nebraskana Art Show held March 1 in Osceola. Judge Terence R. Duren, Shelby, judged. Frances Innes took second with Early Spring Thaw. Pearl Barr took third with A Nebraska Winter. Winners advance to the Governor's Show in Lincoln next June. An exhibit of Duren's paintings ran at the State Capitol Building March 1.

Sixty eight patrons attended Polk School Dist. No. 72 caucus as Ed Beckner chaired. Nominees for the ballot were Wayne Ramsey, Gerald Stevens, Floyd Merchant and Robert Willits. Fredrickson Announces Retirement From Village Board

C. Marvin Fredrickson will retire from the village board next May after 27 years of service and long-time chairmanship.
