Fire destroys barn at Verland Widga farm
A barn on the Verland Widga farm northeast of Polk was totally destroyed by fire last Wednesday afternoon. The blaze started in the structure before discovery and a call to the volunteers. The cause remains undetermined. Nearby a roof fire on a corncrib was extinguished by Polk Volunteer Fire Department. The barn was not in use.
