Cattle shipments and community events in Polk area

W E Johnson shipped cattle to Omaha Tuesday. The Pleasant Hill Mission Circle held a picnic at the Mission camp grounds Sunday. Various residents from Wausau to Burlington visited Polk and surroundings. A big carnival company tours Grand Island area this week. Public notices include an executor sale of Addie L. Banghart estate in Polk County with details of property and sale terms. The Drum and Bugle Corps from Lone Tree Post No. 6 plans a street concert and the state and national conventions are noted for the group.

Band Journey To Riverside Park Sunday Afternoon

The Pork Municipal band, 25 members under Dr R L Peterson with R J Allison, toured Central City to perform a concert at Riverside Park. About a thousand people attended, the largest crowd in history, enjoying the program followed by ice cream and wafers.
